About The Forgotten Veteran

While incarcerated for a first offense marijuana possession felony conviction in Arizona Dept of Corrections, Timothy Pena and other veterans in the veteran's dorm had difficulty getting access to Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) with simple VA forms, information and advocacy that other non-incarcerated veterans receive.

Pena started Veterans Justice Project, LLC in Arizona in 2019 with the goal of 'Bridging the Gap' between the VA and the veteran by providing incarcerated veterans with access to necessary VA forms, assistance with submitting claims, and transitional services and resources.

Since arriving to New York City in July 2022, Pena has taken up the cause of assisting veterans experiencing homelessness after spending five months in a violent, drug - infested NYC shelter also receiving Veterans Affairs funding under the Grant & Per Diem transitional program. He is currently seeking other for - profit and non - profit partners dedicated to assisting other veterans in obtaining sustainable housing and personal wellness.
